Faith-Filled Wedding Details

Many of our brides and grooms are people of deep faith, so it is only natural that they would incorporate signs of their faith into their wedding days. Each wedding is very personal and unique, but many of them share in common using favorite Scripture verses, ceremony crosses, and other meaningful details. These are some of the special faith-filled wedding details from Lenora's Legacy weddings.

April and Jimmy's wedding was full of personal details, and they were certain to include a statement of their faith among the other elements.

It has been said that "it takes three to get married". The beautiful cross these couples used during their wedding ceremonies showed their commitment to Christ-centered marriages. Simple, but powerful.

A large table cross was used as the focal point on this more traditional outdoor altar for a ceremony.

Judith and Casey met doing missionary work in the Philippines, and prayer was an important part of their ceremony.

Hannah and Alex chose to wash one another's feet during the marriage ceremony as a powerful symbol of their humble love and their desire to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Favorite Bible verses are a wonderful way to express faith and also to say something about the bride and groom's relationship. Our couples have found many creative ways to include Scripture in their weddings. These beautiful and varied large signs were displayed at wedding ceremonies at Lenora's Legacy.

We loved how Sarah and Tay used an actual cord to illustrate this verse from Ecclesiastes 4:12.

Below is another very beautiful version of Ruth 1:16.

The descriptions of love found in First Corinthians 13 are ever-popular ceremony readings, but here they were used in a very creative way as the wedding cake topper.  Hannah and Joe's wedding was photographed by Kendra Martin Photography.

Mallorie and Casey's wedding by Hannah Woodard Photography featured the classic Biblical description of marriage from Genesis 2:24 on a little sign next to their wedding cake. It was indeed a sweet reminder that the fruit of the wedding day is a lifetime of marriage.

Summer Wedding Inspiration

As we mentioned, this is our final summer wedding season, and we can't wait to enjoy every beautiful detail. To kick off the upcoming summer weddings, we thought it would be fun to share with you some of our favorite summer wedding details from the last few years. Fresh berries, scrumptious cupcakes, and colorful flowers - can't you practically feel the summer sun on your face?

Caroline and Jamie had the perfect look for a summer wedding - a light colored suit and tie for the groom, and a soft lace gown for the bride.  Their bridesmaids (below) carried through the theme, with soft lace pastel dresses, paired with beautiful colorful bouquets.

Vibrant colors look fantastic for summer weddings in details from bridesmaid dresses to pennant flags to flowers. Don't be shy about mixing and matching bright colors! The trick to making it work is to choose different colors with equal intensity.

These bright summer centerpieces with orange slices have been a popular wedding flower pin on Pinterest.

Roses are not only a timeless wedding flower, they are the flower for the month of June. They also fare well in the heat, making them a favorite for summer brides. Hydrangeas are a natural complement, but aren't the tiny succulents also a nice surprise?

We loved every detail of Sarah and Tay's wedding, from the gingham tablecloths to the bright mixed bouquets in eclectic vases to the assorted vintage chairs.

Fresh fruit, berry and lemonade flavored cupcakes, and ice cold drinks are all on the menu for summer wedding receptions.

Even wedding favors can take on a fun summery theme. They can be as simple as baskets of ripe summer peaches or have a cute motif like old-fashioned glass bottles of Coca-Cola with bags of popcorn.

Last, but not least, what would a summer wedding be without lawn games? From oversized Jenga to monogrammed cornhole boards, outdoor games are always a fun addition to a summer celebration.

Our Final Summer Wedding Season

Dear friends, we have big news: 2016 will be our final summer hosting weddings at Lenora's Legacy. It is finally time for us to retire and enjoy time with our family.

We have loved every moment sharing in your celebrations over the years, from first kisses and first dances to beautiful outdoor ceremony decor to the most romantic wedding flowers. It has been an honor to host so many memorable weddings, and we cannot wait for this summer's celebrations. Our last booking date will be for October 1st. Our Favorite Firsts

Every moment of a wedding is special, but we especially love the "firsts" - the first look, first kiss, and first dance. After all, there is only one change for a first moment. These were some of our favorite first moments during weddings at Lenora's Legacy. We hope you enjoy!

To be honest, I'm pretty traditional when it comes to the groom not seeing the bride before the marriage ceremony, so I absolutely adored Madison and C.T.'s "no look" first look. The groom wore a blindfold, so the couple could share a special moment before the ceremony while preserving the surprise when Madison walked down the aisle. Love it!

This is another great concept for a pre-ceremony couple photo - either stopping just like this to keep the surprise, or actually coming together for a true first look. This photo was from Erin and Dan's wedding by FamZing.

Then there is the first kiss! After all the planning and everything that goes into preparing for a wedding, is there anything better than that moment when the officiant says, "I now declare them man and wife...you may kiss the bride!"? It brings tears to my eyes every time.

We loved the vintage style of Nicholas and Cara's June wedding, especially her fabulous aqua blue macrame necklace.

Erin and Dan's wedding was filled with joy, and their first kiss was no exception!

And our last first is the first dance! Many brides and grooms have danced the night away under the lights in our Peach Shed Pavilion, and it always starts with that first turn around the dance floor.
